I have to find my place. For me I know I need nature to feel myself reach out. Mostly it's water. A canal or a stream can bring me into the storm. Ocean builds fast in me and I find it hard to remove all the other things jumbled. Ocean or Sea is too powerful. And if no water, I look for a Tree. Tall and green with the strength from the Earth.
When I get my spot I simply breath. Focusing on the nature and in a very short time my mind opens up.
I use this for prayer as well.Like (1)

I think meditation is just another form of day dreaming ~ and I think day dreaming has been given a bad rap, I think it's not only good for you, I think it's necessary. It's nature's way of giving your brain a spell - so is meditation.

I focus on a candle flame, or, if none is available, some ob
ject that I can concentrate on. I then repeat some passage of sc ripture in Greek (I know...but it helps, Ok) till thoughts start coming into my mind. I use Zen breathing techniques (I don't think God minds) and I have had some pretty interesting epiphanies. I recommend meditation to all Christians. Lay down, be comfortable, close your eyes, focus on your breathing. Imagine a feather than goes up as you exhale and comes down as you inhale. Clear your thoughts, let them come, but let them go, dont hold on to any thought in your mind. The goal is to breathe deeply and completely clear your mind.
