What do you do to push yourself to do things you really don't want to do but, need to do to get something you want?

Break it into small chunks, either activity or time-bound, and have little breaks and rewards in between them. These might be in the form of things I actually do like doing, or want to do. Sounds simple. Isn't in practice, but it's the best I have :)

I get up, get ready, and go to work.

Break down the task into little steps and do it gradually in little spurts, it's less painful

I just stamp down the objections in my mind and start doing whatever it is I need to do. If I sit there and try to reason it out, there's a good chance I'll find some reason to procrastinate or not do it at all.
