Try my hardest to get outdoors and be in nature. When that doesn't work, have a pity party.
Sometimes nature parks but mainly, I like to hike. My favorite place to go around this area is Angeles National Forest.

If I ever feel sad or depressed, I write it down in a journal I brought a few years back. It really helps to make sense of the situation that made you feel this way :)

No, its a relief to do it.
Eat more vegetables. Go outside and walk and get the sun in my eyes. Think of that one thing I'd like to do that seems too far out of reach, and take a step toward that. I've been in a moderate depression a couple of times before--it is awful! Right now I just get kinda bummed sometimes because my kids have moved away and I seem to need my own life to flourish again, and it's my challenge.
I sing a song that cheers me up.
Play some music, write, seek the company of loved ones, etc. I just the let the feeling be, I always go back to equilibrium eventually. I just make sure it doesn't seem noticeable to others, wouldn't want them to worry.
Not really, what could they do to make me feel better? Letting them be happy and seeing that happiness makes me happy again. I don't want them to know and suddenly treat me differently, it'd exacerbate things.
Sometimes watching something on TV/movies that is really funny or a real tear jerker. Both can help. Loneliness then you may need the company of others...maybe a good friend you like or trust. Someone who is fun to be around.
I have watched House. I really like the main character. I like his witty British humor. He is a trip. I am a definite fan of his.
It is easy for me to become a bit lonely, so, the best way for me to avoid it or get over it is to one, bake for my neighbors, something I do every week and secondly, like to get involved in ways to help others, make someone less fortunate smile

Tell somebody close to you, that wont judge you. Thats at least what I did.
I see redemption in the mix of feeling sad or depressed; it's like a dark cloud, but within it, is the potential to understand the why, and to start battling back. Depression can be treated without meds; just most people aren't willing to let their depression work for them.
