Disgusting belief systems that allow such a thing should be banished, Anyone that participates in such a thing either actively or passively should get the same treatment they gave their victim.

Creates a *** for tat scenario like the old Hatfield and McCoy feud, both families were decimated. If you really want to get back at someone, run em to death through the legal system. Their still alive, but broke beyond belief and it will take years to get over it.
As far as revenge for something, had an uncle who spent the last years of his life planning revenge on the guy who killed his daughter, we finally have him in the justice system, wish my uncle was alive to see it. Maybe he is getting peace anyway.
I see honor killings as nothing more than revenge for embarrassing me (the person) and has less validation than revenge.
Anyhow, that's my thought on it

I don't think you understand what honour killings are. It is primarily muslim families who force their daughters into arranged marriages. When the daughters refuse or try to run away, they murder her for disobeying them. That is an honour killing. Not sure what you're talking about.

Honor killings have been going on for a long time, not just with the current focus on muslims. I think it was during the 70' or 80's there was a guy in Brazil who burned his wife alive for being fat, he plead it was an honor killing and got off. Many Spanish based cultures used to have honor killings, the daughter, the mother, seldom but it did occur, a son.

for further discussion, the citation goes into other areas I have heard of but forgotten
I wonder if that tickled her lips when they painted that on.

I have read of a lot taking place in the US and Canada, didn't know the Brits were having the problem also.
Agree, as it has turned out, when I first answered this, there were only two other answers, and, I immediately thought of local Mexican and South American examples, I had not seen all the internet stuff on the killings which had been going on, we haven't had any in our area, we do see the occasional Mexican Honor killing or with South or Central Americans move in.

Seems barbaric to me. I see no honour in these type of unjustified killings.

I can honor that! Why? Because it really is an honor if someone kills you for fun...
