I yell "****" sometimes at the top of my lungs. It's cathartic. If you knew me, you wouldn't be offended. I'm the world's biggest ***** when it comes to women. But that's just an act. So I'm not sure where that leaves me. Not alone, surprisingly enough.

People who don't usually swear will sometimes use curse words for 'shock value', get someone's attention or to emphasize a point.. however if someone swears a lot, it loses these effects and tends to cause others to tune out rather than pay attention.

Many of people swear out of habit - the people they spend a lot of time with swear regularly and they've integrated the terms into their everyday vocabulary. I used to do this when I worked in public safety, everyone else at work swore like a sailor - so I did to. After I got lectured by my family for swearing in front of the kids - I made an intentional effort to stop swearing entirely.

its just like saying any other word to me, i don't swear too much, but quite a bit. Free speech

But when people swear all the time, its very obnoxious sounding, i always seem to correct.

I really don't swear much at all. The other day I was talking to a friend I've know for about 4 years. I said the word a** and they laughed. They said that's the first bad word I've ever heard you say :-)
