What do you make of that homeless guy attack in Miami?

You know the one, the guy who ate another homeless guy's face off, literally ate his lips, ears and nose right off, 75% of his face eaten. Pretty sick and disturbing. Supposedly the attacker took 12 rounds to put down. It only took around 40 rounds to kill a rampaging elephant that police had to deal with a while back. The thing is (and I do actually believe the official report) they say he was high on drugs at the time. HOWEVER, doesn't pretty much every single zombie film start out with some semi-plausible excuse for the mayhem? At some level I'm keeping an eye on similar stories, I don't think the dead are walking but it is possible some weaponised drug or virus has been created that causes people to become hyper-aggressive and lose their rationale. I really don't believe a re-animated human would be anything more than a coma patient, the dead would be pretty tame in my opinion. But humans do have the potential for great anger and violence, an ordinary human can be very dangerous

It's a pseudo-marijana that can be bought over the counter. It's been the source of several other very similar attacks. It's legal, but hopefully not for long.

Definitely needs to be made illegal, it's clearly a problem. I'd never even heard of it, my first impression was "bath salts?...." But it's obviously a pretty serious drug, hope it gets banned. I think head shops need to be made illegal full stop , they're blatantly just selling drugs, they were banned here a year or so ago

This is a devil, the drug only made the homeless man mind weak, it doesn't take much for a devil to get into the mind of others, all it needs is an opportunity, it's scary some said zombies, i've had dreams of people in mind control because of a virus or something they ate too....its all evil. The devil was living in him, it just exposed itself. This reminds me of the angels who came down from heaven to sleep with the beautiful women of the earth. Some believe they taught us witch craft. The women bore giants, some over 200 ft, they ate so much that they were eating the birds of the air and humans. So many men were killed, God punished the angels(they already knew they would be punished), and their sons (the giants)were killed, but their evil spirits were left on the earth to oppress man. A lot of people won't believe that. There are spirits on this earth that's been here since the earth was formed. The evil spirits are like the number one gang members. They destroy for fun, they laugh when people are dying, it's a battle. The Bible speaks about a time that is to come-greatest tribulation-this world will ever go through. it says that men hearts will stop because of what they will see .

It just begun...we haven't even seen the worst

You have a fairly spiritual approach to this :). Humans need to take responsibility at times though, it's not just some spirit that makes anyone do anything, people who do bad things make a choice, it's always a choice. Research has been done to show that when someone has a method of passing responsibility for doing something bad, they will. Check out Zimbardo's prison experiment using students. The fact is if people believe a spirit has taken over, it leaves them the freedom to do what they want, because it's the spirit's fault. I'm not going to be the one to say there are or aren't spirits in our plane of existence, but I do know as soon as you give up personal responsibility you've made a choice that will very likely lead to a bad decision or ill deed. We all need to take ownership of our lives. And maybe that stops any potential spirits from taking over?

Cut and dry? I guess that's a reasonable response, horrible stories happen and are reported on every day

Haha, very true, evolution is a bit of a fantasy :). Work on yourself, commit to personal growth and accountability for your actions, that's all anyone can do, it's the most tangible sense of evolution anyone will experience. But the drug problem, the people in society who need care and services to try and help them with their addiction, it's all very self-defeating. Remove the drugs, it's the only way to stop the addictions completely.

That was unbelievable, The victims face was destroyed. I can't believe they had that pic on the internet. All because of those bath salts. Very wicked drug that can make a person do this to another human being.

Definitely, it needs to be banned. I immediately chose not to watch the video or look at the picture, I've seen plenty of appalling things and I never feel like there's a benefit. I'll watch an interview or read about him if and when he recovers, poor fella.

True, it was very unexpected, never heard of anything similar outside of cannibalism in Africa, which I believe is all but over in this day and age

I asked about it earlier. Found out about it in a weird way. I think it is rather disturbing to say the least. And I have seen plenty of confessions on here about this drug. Also it took 4 shots, the guy eating the other didnt even react except with growls until the 4th shot killed him.

I thought it was 12 shots, according to eyewitnesses? And the police I'm sure said 6. He definitely didn't react, but I guess the first shot was a limb, maybe the first 2 shots, just to try and put him into shock. A shot to the heart, spine or head will put down anyone fast, while lungs and organs will take a little longer but will kill pretty quickly. I have read a story on a police blog saying an officer nailed a guy with a 12-gauge in the side, under the arm, and from close range so all 9 or whatever pellets went on target, maybe a few went straight out again. That's pretty much the equivalent of being shot with 9x 9mm rounds. Amazingly, the fella ran up 2 flights of stairs before he collapsed! Pretty incredible, and almost certainly because of drugs as well. I agree with your approach, I refuse to discount it off-hand, knowledge is power, never fear it, even if it seems unlikely at first glance. That's our natural flaw, we too often seek to categorise and break things down, it's why we stereotype, why we're racist at times. Open-mindedness is not just a good approach, it could save your life in a desperate situation. Did you see there's another case, another man on bath salts in Miami? Supposedly tried to bite an officer's hand, said he was going to eat him, then smashed his head off the glass in the patrol car and later in his cell. I just wonder if someone is behind it, organising homeless people to do these kinds of things? It wouldn't be hard to convince people who have nothing to act in this manner. I'm still going to be keeping an eye on the news, I have my suspicions it's not over yet

I'll take your word for it.....Mr. Lecter is it? You did make me laugh, but I feel bad because the guy lost his nose and lips and ears, that's really awful. I don't know how someone comes back from that kind of attack
