What do you think about Obama's Special Olympic's Joke?

I think he's a real genuine person that slipped in public. He's still not used to being torn apart for every f'ing word he says.
If we spent as much time giving him constructive ideas as we do trying to belittle him, we'd all be in a little better place right now.

It was an ill-advised attempt at self-deprecating humor. Nothing more, nothing less. To answer your final question, yes, I think you are overreacting.

Anyone who allows this incident to define their opinion of our President belongs in the Special Olympics.

I have schizophrenia and people always use the words 'crazy' 'nuts' even the word schizophrenia used improperly. I don't really like it but I've developed a thick skin and I definitely don't take it personally. I don't think our President meant anything by his Special Olympics comment other than he's not a 'regular' Olympian. Do I think he could have said something else? For sure, just like folks 'should' stop using words like 'crazy' or 'nuts' to describe unusual behavior.

I had no idea as to it being "Offensive" until people who are looking at his EVERY move and picking his every word apart. He is a master of intelligence and some people will never be happy.

Of course, things said "off the cuff" and in jest are BOUND to have the potential to be taken amiss by someone; and so its a dangerous thing for a man in President Obama's position to do. And unfortunately the Press and enemies LOVE that opportunity to make a Big Deal of it!

Genuine people will most likely shrug it off wth a wry smile; the malicious will blow it up as much as possible. If people in high places want to avoid this kind of thing, they should be like the Queen of England, and be all prunes and prisms, keep to the script, and never allow their humanness to put foot in mouth!

I think it's nice to hear a polititian who doesn't calculate every move he makes to keep us all happy. It was a poor way of describing it, but he apologized, and it never was intended to be anything less than a non-malicious and humorous way of describing his poor bowling skills.

He is definitely not my favorite person in the world, but I thought it was funny. I was happy to see him making jokes. People need to get thicker skin in this country.

Here I go......and I hope that this will be the only time that I have to do this.......He made a joke......alright a bad one.....But it was still a joke.......Just drop it....and get on with the real stuff......I mean really....It there nothing better going on at this time...that we have to spend so much time on a bad joke...Told on a Late night talk show....
