Well, yes, hopefully the cow is dead when it ends up on my plate as steak. But doesn't the act of yanking a carrot out of the ground, cutting it up and putting it on a plate also end the carrot's life?
MEAT IS MURDERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. BAHAHHAAHHA xD
I'm a vegetarian.
I don't agree with what goes on at slaughterhouses and such.
I think it's crap we feed animals hormones and then eat those hormones. That's gross >.<
But I think there's a better way to defend animals. I think it's about creating a safe space for humans to be able to be cost effective and treat animals with respect. It's cruel animals get boiled still alive. It's so anthropocentric to treat animals like that.
It comes down to being safe. Being ethical. And getting the products we need. But ehh, that's just my humble hippie opinion..
I eat meat cause deep down their is a savage Aztec-Kelt barbarian that still wants to stalk his Deer into the woods, cut him, eat him and offer his Life to my strange Ancient Savage Gods who require blood to honor them.
And a BLT isn't half bad, what!
Meat are proteins. I respect people not wanting to eat meat. I hope other people respect my choice for staying an omnivore...
Great album by the smiths
I think its funny. I'm a vegetarian, but... wow... just let people enjoy their meat without trying to guilt-trip them. I don't like the taste of it, but that's only my personal choice. I'd eat it if I were starving. I'd eat human meat if I didn't have another choice. I hear it tastes like pork. Sure, I'd worry about how unclean the meat is, but ... SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST >:D Animals eat other animals. Heck, animals eat humans sometimes!
Humans have greater capacity for harm. That's why so many people are brainwashed into thinking their own kind is 'evil'. I think it's kinda sad. If animals could think like we do... they wouldn't do any better. And I love animals, I think they can be cute, cool, but at the end of the day... cos now... HUMANS ARE AT THE TOP OF THE FOOD CHAIN! Yes, we should continue being humane with animals, but we have the right to eat them. I wonder if ancient humans were so fussy. I think people have became too weak. Meat isn't murder. It just sounds catchy, and I can't take it seriously at all.
Though I'm not a vegetarian I think this statement is as true as it can be....I was wondering a few days ago who invented "meat eating"?...Because if we think well, God never said kill to eat, so who did?!
Actually in Genesis, God told adam that there were clean and unclean animals. God told Adam that he could eat the clean animals. If you read that book. Some people think it is a work of fiction.
meat is medium rare.
Vegetarians are so silly when they try to attack others for eating meat. If you really think that eating meat is murder, keep it to yourself and let me enjoy my freakin' steak. Rare.
Love eating meat,it is juicy and so tasty, how could anyone not like eating meat.hmmm count me as a meat eater! All kinds of meat!LOL
Meat is good for you. Pure veggie diets are not healthy, as you lose out on nutrients you need. plus its tasty. But, people have the choice to eat it.
I eat meat like alot of other people. I know what happens to the animals and it is sad. If I can avoid eating the meat that has come out on mass ( the ones from all store ), I do. My father hunts and being home wild meat ( Deer, elk, moose.). Now before anyone starts on about how we have enough meat in the stores, why kill the deer. It is much better for you. Almost all the part are used for something. Even if it is just feeding the animals in the wild. I think it is a much better way to get meat
But over all i think it is silly for people to say meat is murder. Our bodys are made to eat everything. Think back to when we were not able to get every kind of fruit, every kind of veggy. If you didnt eat meat, you died.
Vegetables were alive once too. They are complicated living organisms but sine they can't moo or cluck or look at you its different? We are animals, in the wild animals eat animals. It is what it is.
The definitions of terms and words should not be changed to satisfy the whims theory. I just spend 5 years in prison behind a presc<x>ription medication addiction, I never once met anyone who was there for murdering a cow. I guess that's good new for the cowboys, don't worry, its still legal.
I agree that the world is in the worst shape that its ever been in and that factory farming is cruel. I also agree that we could educate our children better, take care of the populations mental and physical health issues. I also believe that man will never solve this world's problems and that God is the only solution. But I don't expect you to have my beliefs, I don't even expect you to respect my beliefs......its still not murder >sigh> it's just not.
he he he....
some things were put there to be eaten. just because you chose not eat them don't disrupt the natural order of things.
and on that note i wonder why we didn't slaughter a goat this weekend. anyone with a good reason?
It is true and not up for debate. Taking a life is murder, there is nothing "okay" about it. By the way, humans are herbivores. Do some research before you assume that humans are meant to eat meat.
Carnivores: Have claws; no skin pores (perspire through tongue); sharp front teeth for tearing, no flat molar teeth for grinding; intestinal track 3 times body length so rapidly decaying meat will pass quickly; strong hydrochloric acid in stomach to digest meat
Herbivores: No claws; perspires through skin pores; no sharp front teeth, has flat rear molars; intestinal tract 10-12 times body length; stomach acid 20 times weaker than meat-eater's
Humans: No claws; perspires through skin pores; no sharp front teeth, has flat rear molars; intestinal tract 10-12 times body length; stomach acid 20 times weaker than meat-eater's
I apologize if my prior argument seemed confrontational, I'm new to internet communication. No offense intended.
some believe that and some just say i z it catchy and supports their agenda
its only murder when you kill animals for recreation its survival when you kill them for food something has to die for something else to live even if you are a vegitarian you kill plants to eat some may arge its ok to kill plants because they are not sentient and concious but I beg to differ plants respond to stimuli just like animals
Lots of sensible answers here.
I eat meat only on weekends ba<x>sed on an unsubstantiated but closely held belief that humans were not designed to eat meat as frequently as it has become. More of a health thing than ideological.
Agree that animals are not human, thus cannot be "murdered" in the legal sense (prohibition on murder was never intended to include animals).
But, don't agree that animals are put here solely for the benefit of humans (the dominion of man I think is the phrase). That would justify cruelty (which was intended to include animals) to an extent that I'm not prepared to accept...
But, that is rooted in religion, and I don't want to boil that particular kettle of fish.
The phrase then is obviously an attention-grabber, I don't see what the problem with that is, any headline in a newspaper employs the same tactic.
Many of them (PETA or whichever) definitely believe it, which is their right.
I don't see anything wrong with groups running a public education program on some of the downsides of meat eating (cruelty, environmental destruction, unsafe hormonal practices, etc.).
Its not about murder though.
I don't agree with that statement. I can respect the rights of those who do and don't feel the need to persuade them otherwise. I don't press them to change. I greatly appreciate it when those who eat differently than I do resist the urge to persuade me to change my diet.
I don't feel any moral imperative to be vegan. I don't think I should be vegan for health reasons. I believe that we are biologically set up to be omnivores. We're born to eat meat. That's evidenced by the way our teeth are. We have sharp canine teeth as do all carnivores. Those are our eye teeth. We also have horizontally flat surfaced teeth as do herbivores. Those are our molars. That makes us omnivores. As omnivores we're meant to eat some meat. That would necessitate killing animals.
it is murder for sure.. I go thru phases when I just can't eat it at all, and look along the shopping shelf at the meat freeser and feel ill. but I know me not eating meat will not stop the killing... I hate seeing the baby cows pushed away from the mothers as they go off to be slaughtered and the baby looks on... last glimpses of goodbye and then death. the slaughter trains and house are gross and the killing floor is evil- I am not a big meat fan... I like it sometimes and I like the taste sometimes... other times it is sickening to me. and I prefer vegitarian ... on farms we lived on they got killed... it isn't nice. the videos of them ******* to death as the knife cuts them and blood goes out its a slow painful evil death. and they fear the stun box... there is no such thing as humane killing really... but ok I have to get the hemo-iron somewhere.
if you let the animals get over populated they will run out of food and be stricken by diseases and lack of space for healthy liveing. human being's fate any one?
