What do you think of marrying someone.....?

well do you CARE that it won't be until death or more about what you're sharing right now? because if you have any trust in the way things are working right now then you should feel somewhat secure about your future right?

maybe you should think about why you may be having doubts..

If there are doubts already, walk away. It's not fair to either person. You deserve to have a feeling of certainty(somewhat). Let the other person find someone who is sure of them.

maybe you get married on thursday then you die on friday it was till death marrage ....

I been there and it was not fun. Especially when the other wanted out.....

That is what most people do. They also worry about the "forsaking each other clause". This is why, of the marriages that do survive all the way through to the death part, only 20% are monogamous. To doubt is human.

How does one know indeed? The thing you may not have doubts but what happens if your partner does and wants out.. You do and give the best you can, and this is an every day commitment.. statistically not many make it to death.. divorce gets there first..

In essence, getting married is to tell the world before God how much you love someone. It is the ceremony that is important. If your relationship has this kind of meaning, and commitment, then what is the problem?

You're not collecting another girl scout badge... it's not something you take lightly. And life has no guarantees, there is no time but now. Forever is a concept that has no bearing on today.

For me, marriage is still sacred. Something you do with the intention of forever. So I wouldn't marry someone if I didn't honestly believe it would last. Now, I have a friend who believes marriage is an antiquated way to take ownership of another person. He told me once that he would get married, but doubted it would last forever, but it didn't matter because marriage is no longer sacred. I have another friend, who is married and he won't get divorced because of the kids, and money and paperwork involved in ending it. So he cheats on his wife.

I guess my point is it depends on what your beliefs about marriage are. If you love this person, and to you marriage is about a moment in time, then why not?

I married my high school sweetheart. We got married at nineteen. I am still not sure it is till death! Things change, people change, you can't control it. Go with the flow. Life is too short to worry about what ifs.

I am not or never been married, there isn't even anything on the horizon right now, I really shouldn't have answered but I wanted to say I loved your avatar...

Most people enter into marriage thinking they will be with the person until they die, but sometimes people grow apart or the stress of having kids weakens the relationship. There are so many variables that can come into play, but for the most part I don't worry about it and take it day by day.
