Resolved Question

What do you think of the terms of service section about copyright?

Apparently we retain our copyright on all that we post BUT experience project can use it or edit it in any way they want to:

"If you do post content or submit material, and unless we indicate otherwise, you grant The Experience Project and its affiliates a nonexclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such content throughout the world in any media."

How is this possible if you retain the copyright?
And it is not just them but also their affiliants. Does anyone know who their affiliants are?

Also did you know that you are responsible for the accuracy of your content? That is absurd. If I write about my feelings- ie lets say one day I say 'my husband hates me'- that doesn't make it ACCURATE! Maybe I am just feeling badly that day. Maybe I am coming to wrong conclusions! I don't get how they can hold you accountable for accuracy.

Anyway, I am not judging- just trying to understand. I may not post so freely and vuneralbly as I do knowing it can go half way around the world without me even being aware of it and IN ANY FORM they choose!

I don't think EP should do anything with material other than to display it as we submit it and in the context, ie Group etc. into which we placed it.

I agree. No changes should be made. This has also got me wondering what happens if you delete your material. Can they still use it?
