stevester	Posted Aug 21st, 2009 at 9:47PM Knee jerk reaction is to say each other but no...it's shown that schemes involving prisoners in selection and preparation of their food had higher levels of acceptance than just shoving some old crap at them. Might make prisons a happier and more manageable place. Rated: +2Vote for this!

JJJeWWWy	Posted Aug 20th, 2009 at 8:43AM I dont think that they should be treated terribley, but they shouldnt eat lobster. i think a simple meal, like cereal or something for breakfrast. or toast. i mean, being in jail is bad enough, but i dont thnk starving someone would make them nto do anything bad ever again. Comprehensive2	Posted Aug 20th, 2009 at 9:48AM Bread and water. It'll be an incentive to not get into trouble again and come back. If there were harsher conditions in jail crime would go down and there would be no repeat offenders. Now, it's a Hilton. Three square meals a day and what the law abiding citizen has to pay for THEY get for free. That is wrong. It's not punishment being locked up in jail or prison if you're living like you've done something good. Rated: +1Vote for this!
doorsinmymind	Posted Aug 20th, 2009 at 11:10AM There was a prison in the U.S. that was serving roadkill. Sheriff Joe Arpaio in AZ serves peanut butter sandwiches. I like both of these ideas. The prisoners are entitled to proper nutrition, but it doesn't have to be enjoyable. Rated: +1Vote for this!

They should be treated as prisoners; and not as though they have the same rights we have; as they knew they were breaking the law; and chose to break the law. RRK1	Posted Aug 21st, 2009 at 9:52PM They should be given healthy, nutritional food which they have grown and prepared themselves. They also need to be taught good nutrition as well as how to read and write and a trade. If you read the statistics you'll know the majority of prisoners have little or no education. Those who will eventually be returned to society need to be able to re-integrate with something better than their former trade. Rated: +1Vote for this!
