Definitely the gas prices. I remember when it used to be under a dollar per gallon.

well the 90s was my best!! as i had friends, outgoing, music was brilliant and yes the gas prices were cheap... compare to now and that all gone,...

It is the position of many to hold a certain nostalgia towards the past. The belief that things were once fine but went wrong is a very popular feeling. The truth of course is much different, people then were grumbling just as much about jobs, gas prices, and politics. I remember my parents complaining when gas went up to $1.50 a gallon one summer. The 90s had their share of problems but nothing compared to what we're dealing with now.
So for once, the nostalgia is not misplaced.
