If the world was going to end, they would have dropped the price of petrol, see they are in it for the long haul. They (The ones that know) would have left for sunny climes by now.

The world will not end Dec 21,2012. The Mayan calendar is like any other calender, it marks the death of the old, and the birth of the new. Another cosmic or galactic era in the evolution of humanity has ended and we are on the brink of a whole new evolutionary era. We will go through a transition period of approximately 200 years as our solar system crosses the cusp between Pisces and Aquarius. The sun will also eclipse the dark matter at the center of the galaxy, throwing the entire universe or what we can see with the naked eye, into complete darkness. There will be chaos like we've never witnessed before and only the strong shall survive. None of this will occur exactly on Dec 21,2012, but considering the monstrous changes to our geological face, our atmosphere, plant and animal life and other things we take for granted, in the coming years, on Dec 21,2012 let us stand together as one race and bid the world as we've known it goodbye.
