The box elder tree is a unique type of maple tree found especially in the south along rivers or moist areas. It is the only maple tree in north america to have compound leaves, The wood is very soft. The leavelets are large and oval. There is one big central point with lesser points on the rest of the tree. I hope this helps you. The tree grows up to 60 feet tall.
