Many dreams are a manifestation of your fears. Perhaps the dream may suggest your fear of being left alone. Because home is generally a place of comfort, being left alone to find your way home may mean that you fear of losing something comfortable.

Perhaps, it's one of your fears. Have you told her about it?

Someone once told me that in our dreams we acknowledge our dreams, hopes, and fears. Maybe part of you is still dreading being abandoned. That's a pretty natural feeling, especially in regards to somebody who is dear to you.
