History repeats itself...
When you look back you see what led to the things that are happening in your life now. And when you see that, you can figure out how what your doing now will do to your future.
It means the same thing as 'those who don't know history are destined to repeat it.'<br />
History are not just a compiliation of facts, though those are important in order to speak of them clearly. They are pointed patterns. And patterns tend to get repeated unless you are aware of them.<br />
The more you understand the patterns together over time the more you can actually 'predict' the future accurately or try to stop it if needed by deliberately changing the pattern.<br />
This applies to your own life as well as the life of a nation and world.
It means that if we learned from history, the more we can see how to respond to the same type situations in the future
It "sounds" like Gobble-de-gook to me.
I love the question! My take on this - those significant past experiences all the way back into childhood stay in our memories, then resurface when a new experience adds to or completes it. That way we can understand how and why we act, think and feel how we do. This understanding gives us the strength to move forward in our lives. "Seeing" is the same as understanding.
i believe it means history repeats itself. But the words may hold even more truth than that....
If you look back at your life, good and bad, you can learn and grow from it.
You are what the past has created you to be.
