They sell them to discount stores such as Ross. Some may donate them to thrift stores, Target will donate clothing items to Goodwill that they can't sell on clearance in their stores.

some clothies can be recycled for material but only as the last possible option.

They will sell them in bulk to be shipped and sold overseas FAAAR more than they're ever donated. I worked in large clothes donation closet in Memphis and I don't think we ever saw anything new from a store.

If they still fail to sell at the bargain center, I know at least SOME outlets, donate them to Goodwill or a homeless shelter.
