Stick with what you know. YOU know her the way that you know her. You don't have to justify yourself to *anyone*. OK, so you blew it and shot it out so a lot of people heard you. What you *don't* want to find yourself doing now is defending your feelings. You said what you said, you felt what you felt and (as you write it here) you felt you had just cause. Leave her to say whatever she wants and try not to get involved in 'return-fire' because for as long as you are retaliating it might appear that you are forcing your stand; in forcing your stand, some might perceive it to be all isn't as you said it was and the words willl continue to bounce back and forth until people will think you are both as bad.
Ease off, let people say what they want and let *them* figure out who is playing the villain here; you will find out who is loyal to you and who isn't if you do it this way.
