If the graduate is a female, I would get her "The Go-Girl Guide: How to Survive Your 20s with Savvy Soul and Style"

I bought it when I turned 20 and it addresses nearly every problem a 20-something would have, along with advice from when in their 20s and older. Yeah, you can say that the internet is full of advice, but this book is so funny, so friendly, and so useful that every couple of months I reread a chapter or two. It especially helps when you're post-college and you have trouble adapting to "the real world."

(It's on my bookshelf near all my Shakespeare plays and ancient Greek plays --- which means, it must be pretty important lol)

A check book was the first thing that jumped into my head! When I graduate with my BA I was a little sick of reading things that were serious in any way from many semester of very heavy reading so I really just wanted something fluffy and funny, and of course money because I was pretty broke having paid for it all myself and worked my way through on my own. :D

Oh the places you'll go by Dr. Seuss. It's actually the highest selling Dr. Seuss book because people always buy this book for graduates :D
