What is a home remedy for acne? i have tried everything evn proactive and going to a dermatologist.?

I know what your going through but don't give up. I had really bad acne and tried everything like pro-active to alcohol swabs until I switched doctors and he prescribed me "Clindamycin 2% SOL." It is liquid that you put on your face at night and it honestly works.

I have had SEVERE cystic acne since I was 12 years old (currently 28) and still break out to this day.

I've done everything under the sun. Everything. I have scars all over the place.

Keep clean and get used to it, and comfy in your own skin.

i was told to use toothpaste, or you can make a paste out of baking soda, then you place it on your face or where ever you need to, but just make sure you wash off thouroughly.

Its not a remedy, but try to stay away from shrimp, shellfish, and other foods that are high in zinc, because it leads to break outs. My face was living proof! I stopped it and well, I was back to normal.

I've heard that you can use lemon juice, as its a natural cleaning agent. include foods in your diet that contain zinc and selenium. I use something called neutrogena spot clear treatment, which is really good, which you can get from boots. Follow a cleansing ,toning and moisturising regime. Try to use the right ones for your skin type.
Also if you do any form of excercise, cleanse your skin straight after. Drink plenty of water.

It's prescription but my daughter uses DUAC cream and it works great for her.

My youngest son is using acnefree. It works very well for him.

Some acne is caused by your chemicals. I found out that I have a lot of testosterone, and since I started exercising and doing other things to burn more energy, my acne has almost completely disappeared. I would suggest going to a doc or derm and letting them help you figure out what's causing it.

Regular orange Dial anti bacterial hand soap morn and night with a minor abrasive scrubby of some kind.

It has to be scrubby enough to exfoliate well. It removes the dead skin that covers the clogged pores and the dial washes the pore out. It can take a couple weeks to see the results because it can take a while for the bacteria to be eliminated and the new skin to heal. You can’t slack off either it has to be morning and night. If your skin starts to get dry use a NON-oil based moisturizer such as “biore pore minimizing lotion” it reduces the size of the pores so large amounts of oil and bacteria don’t get stuck.

The Contraceptive Pill. It's not a home remedy, but a friend was prescribed it for her acne and it worked wonders.
I use Clearasil otherwise, that keeps my skin pretty clear.

I wash my face with a gentle facial scrub in the morning, and at night i wash my face with warm water, then tone it with a salicylic acid acne toner.
