Closest we have to a redneck in England is a pikey. It's a term used to refer to gypsies and other travellers who commit crimes and are abusive towards others for no reason.

Derogatory term for a dimwitted white male from the south east... Since most of us good ole boys under the mason dixon line are of scotch-Irish decent I suppose you don't have to look far.
The term is used widely by Americans these days to describe any southern white male and many of which have taken to accepting and wearing the label with foolish pride. However, to any true southerner this is a flat out insult and an inconvenient ignorance to our heritage and culture.Like (1)

Wow... That's a good question! The word 'redneck' came from people who worked in the sun all day... like farmers and ranchers... but it's taken on a new meaning. Rednecks are more-or-less lower class people who don't have much going for them in the way of education or social skills. What would be the equivalent in England to that?

idk what they have over there...but if there's nasty chew spitting, peeing in bottles, bigot, foul mouthed, too ignorant to shut the hell up and listen for 5 seconds group, im guessing they would be about the same thing

not sure how other people class them, but if they act like that I am calling them redneck. thought i'm not certain that's the proper term. I think rednecks are usually white, and classed as beer drinking, bonfire starting country people. LOL it has many faces this redneck termLike (1)
