What is happening to all our radio stations in Bay Area?

I saw this question asked before but I didn't see an answer that really explains what is going on...

Why did they shut down such a popular station like SF's energy 92.7 FM ?? I am straight, but my radio dial was always on 92.7 until the new station with the so called "music" took over suddenly. First, Air America's Sacramento station gets replaced by a stupid "sports score station", then NPR in north bay gets bumped by a wacko neo-con christian station and now energy 92.7 fm gets the axe. Is san francisco now under siege by these right wing a-holes?

It's the economy. It's about finances and those who can pay get to play.

When I saw your Bay area it reminded me of when I was stationed at Moffett Field.

Yeah, I'm with you here. Lately even the station I listen to has gone very soft. Yuck. There used to be a lot of good stations but they're gone now.
