I try to remember that the spirit that gives life to people and animals (for instance) is the same spirit that makes the trees grow and provides me with so many blessings in life. Once I stopped seeing everything in fragments, everything I saw became a little miracle. From that moment on gratitude appeared more naturally in my life. It wasn't really anything I did anymore.

Learning that all things and all people are good for this world.
If microbes did'nt exist, the life cycle of living beings would also be blocked.

I imagine what my life would be like without all the good things.

I keep journals so I can look back and be reminded all the things to NOT take for granted. I also write a journal to each of my children(started for each child just after learning of my pregnancies) and to my husband(started when we were just friends...I just felt he was "the one" from the start.) so if something happens to me they will know where my heart and mind was...and in reading them maybe they will see how grateful I am for them.

I don't have a way I have learned. I either remember to be thankful or I forget to be. I should probably work on that. Its a matter of mindfullness, I think.
