IMHO when you're old enough to realize that they come first and you are ready to put their needs above your own -- for many years.

I had mine in my 30s, career, house, marriage first. Babies are expensive and very tiring, you have to have the mind set they come first for a very long time. I hope my daughter has her children at a younger than me, same age when I had her, I will be in my 70s !! That is a factor you have to figure in, older you are having babies, less chance of being around for grandchildren, or be able to play physically with grandchildren.

I don't think it is the same age for everyone. But when you are old enough to know what you are getting into and young enough to keep up with the demands, that is a good place to start.

I know that most people say that you should wait until late twenties even thirties. My mom had me when she was 24 and my dad was 34. I had my son 1 month ago and I am 19 (mine was very unexpected but I would not trade motherhood for anything, my story is on my page if you are interested in reading it, I do not want to make teen parenting seem cool my story is on my page like I said lol). It all depends on when your ready. As long as you are a great parent and provide for your child through hard work then it is all up to you when you decide to have babies.

When you are honestly mature enough and have a stable relationship. Could be early 20s, could be late 30s.

Most people here seem to agree late twenties to early thirties. From 25 to 35 I think a person should be mature enough to accept the responsibility and young enough to have the patience and energy needed to look after children. Also a person has had time to finish college or university or have some work experience and maybe be earning enough money to give the child a stable home.
