Doing things out of love is always better.

My father needed care later in life but he was mean to me earlier in life so I put him in one of those bad nursing homes. Ha ha Dad!

Care out of love. With love, the person WANTS to be there... with duty, they may feel so much resentment for being 'forced' to provide care that it effects the level of care given.

I'd much rather have the person in a home so that when I fall short, there is a support back-up but doing things out of obligation is not a good idea.
