There is no real healthy way in losing weight fast.... It has become part of our psyche that to achieve something we must feel like we're doing something, like feeling pain, starving ourselves etc. Unfortunately this can be detrimental to your health.

The best and healthiest way to lose weight is to have a balanced diet. Unfortunately the amount you need to lose and the time frame you have, will be very difficult. Don't go for any of the diets which cut out foods, rather increase your intake of fruit and veg (5 portions a day - as the campaign goes in the UK) and 3 portions of milk (pref low fat). The "eat well plate" gives a good indicator of what you neeed to eat on a daily basis. see: http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/healthydiet/eatwellplate/ for more info.

One thing which will help you is to pick one day a week, as your cheat day. On this day you can have some of the fatty foods you have been trying to stay away from during the week. Don't over indulge, just enough to satisfy the craving. This helps keep you going without cracking. Do more exercise, i.e. walk more. If you can, walk to work; if you take the bus to work, get off a stop or two earlier and walk the rest. Take the stairs rather than the lifts and....... you get the picture.

By being more active it will also increase your basal metabolic rate (BMR) which means you'll burn more fat.

Also when you eat, eat very slowly. When our stomachs become full the signal that is sent to the brain to tell it this is slow. If we are eating to fast we become overfull i.e. stuffed. By eating slower we give the signal enough time to let us know we are full. And one last thing, when you feel hungry rather than going for some food first, have a glass of water. Sometimes our body uses the same signal for the two and if after the glass of water you are still hungry after a while then eat. Learn to listen to your body.

    I hope this helps.

Don't eat processed foods, drink lots of water, go for lots of walks. The weight may not come off as quickly as you want, but you will be healthy, and it will come off.

You have to burn more calories than you consume.

    EXERCISE:
    >Cardio: 20-40 minutes a day (at least 6 days a week)

    >Weights: 3 times a week (muscle burns fat)

    >Vary the workout routine. Don't do exactly the same workout every time.

    >Circuit training is a GREAT fat burner.

    >Interval training burns fat faster (such as a run/walk routine)

    >Wear a weighted vest when you work out

    EAT A BALANCED DIET:
Look at eating as a way to provide your body with what it needs for optimal functioning and to become or stay healthy. You can get the majority of the vitamins and minerals you need from the food you eat.

    >Eat low fat, low calorie foods

    >Control portion size (a portion of meat is no bigger than the palm of your hand)

    >Look up calorie counts in the foods you eat

    >Keep a food log and track your calorie intake and calories burned every day (fitday.com is free. It records your goal, tracks your progress, calculates calorie intake and calories burned...and a lot more)

    >Watch calorie intake (no more than 1400 calories a day but make sure you're working out)

    >Measure your serving sizes

    >Do not eat processed foods

    >Eliminate fast food

    >Limit carbs, fats, sugars, and sodium intake. If possible eliminate them unless they occur naturally in foods (meaning do not add them to the food you eat).

    >Eat mostly fresh fruits and vegetables

    >Drink Green Tea (really helps with weight loss)

    >Don't skip breakfast (but make it healthy and include hot peppers to curb your appetite naturally)

    >Watch your snack habits. If you feel hungry all the time, try keeping a bag of baby carrots with you. They are low calorie and you can eat them all day long with very little calorie intake and satisfy the need to have something to eat. Package other healthy snacks in portions that allow you to track the number of calories you consume.

    >Opt for fat free salad dressings or use balsamic vinegar

    >Try using romaine lettuce instead of bread for sandwiches

    >Make the grilled chicken salad your big meal of the day

    >Do a detoxifying body cleanse at least once a month where you only consume water, vegetable juice, clear broth, herbal teas, and vitamin and mineral supplements for 2-3 days. No solid food during this time.

These are the time tested tips that work for weight loss I can think of off the top of my head. I know people that have done the above and lost 30 pounds in 2 months just by virtue of switching to healthy eating habits and working out every day.

Oh yes...another tip...be realistic about the amount of weight you want to lose and the time it will take to lose it. 100 pounds in 4 months is not likely to happen unless you do something that is not good for your body.

Hope this helps....and go for it. You can do this!!

Cabbage soup. I'm telling ya, a few people I've known lost tremendous amount of weight just eating cabbage soup. Your urine may not smell pleasant and you may not get all the nutrition you need (which I would recommend taking vitamins to balance it all out) but I've seen it work.

    Water, water, water!
Drink water like crazy. It will flush your body and if you are retaining water, this will flush it out too. I add fresh lemon to mine.
