The L word freaks your gender out, it seems.
It is really about how you say it. This goes for opposite gender friendship too. I have a male friend who always says it,( I am female) and I am a little hesitant to return it in that form back. There is nothing romantic about our relationship.
Here is what I would like to say which I hope it will make sense.
For a person like me, I say I love You just about to everyone I know and no big deal for them, because they know me, and that's the way I am.
For others who aren't like myself, if they are not used to saying I Love You, it will come out in a different way. And who ever is receiving those words may take it differently which could be a big deal for him or her.
Society thinks guys and girls can't just be friends and hang out.
It's not if you're not being serious...The other guy buying beer or whatever for you...so you tell him, "Hey, I love you man!"
Nothing wrong with it at all. Just don't grab their testicles when you say it.. unless you are implying it that way that is
lol my homie says it to me just to fcuk with me cuz he knows I can't say that.
I'm not homophobic, just super hetero.
No big deal. Some guys just can't take man love..
