I live in a tourist town, it has everything from shushi to old fashion bar-b-que, millions of people come here and eat, but I think the favorite among out of towners, is the one dollar hot dog and beer.
Well I never. I just googled and found out something new about our local town.
"Every year, on the first Friday in September, a ceremony is held in the oyster bed waters, to celebrate the bounty, there, and to mark the council's claim. And it is a claim worth staking, given that the native oysters, Ostrea Edulis, sell for about three times the price of the much more common rock oyster"
I was never aware of this.
I live in a dairying region. We have good fresh milk!
Barbecue meats are popular here, especially brisket and ribs.
