What is the longest Taxi ride you have taken?

The IRA set off some bombs in London in February 1991 and I was scheduled to leave for home (U.S.A.) that day. The authorities shut all the train stations, so I took a taxi ride from downtown London to Gatwick airport. The traffic was horrible because of all the train stations being closed and I think it took about 3 hours and cost about 50 pounds (almost $100.00). Later I found out I could've taken the bus for far less money but the queue for bus tickets looked really long. Little did I know I could have gotten a bus to Gatwick without queueing for a ticket.

Duparc	Posted Sep 1st, 2009 at 3:33PM An all day hire. Took the driver for lunch with meter running. There were two of us. In total it was cheaper than hiring a car. That was 10 years ago. A great day out. Rated: +1Vote for this!
