The 9/11 cos it started like it was part of the movie...I was thinking how hollywood goes too far and has to promote horror etc...and ten it was just too real,..until i realised it was for real,..and then i watched it all night long,...like a slow-mo continuous spectacle of the modern era...
Princes Di i straight away thought of it as assassination,...since a week or so previously, maybe less,..she had said she had information/knowledge,..that would shock/rock the boat...So by the next issue of womens weekly she was conveniently/tragically dead...

911 affected me most, as I witnessed the second plane live on TV. The second would be 7/7, as I am so fond of and appreciate all that Great Britain has done as our ally, (and we came from them)The third most traumatic news would be the tragic death of Diana...we really loved her here in the U.S....and 4th would be the death of John Lennon. All of these things I heard of or witnessed live on TV. Thinking back on all of these tragedies has brought more than one tear to my eye tonight. Very good question!

When the Challenger exploded in the late 80's (can't remember the exact year).

When President Bush was "elected" the second time.

Princess Diana (I had loved her since I was a child and was very sad.)

911

Both of those. I remember my then partner crying about the Diana thing. She suddenly became a fan for some reason and I had to traipse down to London for the bloody funeral.

911 was big...as a child I remember watching the protesting and violence going on over civil rights in the south and then there was Viet Nam. All affected me profoundly.

The live coverage of the attacks on 9/11. I was a senior in high school. I woke up, turned on the news, and just stared at the screen in shock.

At school, all we did was watch the news all day. I told a classmate that we were going to war over this, and he said, "Naahhh."

March 19, 2003, the start of Operation Enduring Freedom, the invasion of Iraq. It was my 12th birthday. I stayed up all night watching the bombing on Fox, watching those Tomahawk missiles rain down on Baghdad. I remember my history teacher, a Desert Storm veteran telling our class it wasn't a matter of if but when, but it was still unreal to watch, like a video game, but real.

I would for the most part agree with you,

I remember hearing about Princess Diana as if it were yesterday...That one comes third.

I watched the second plane hit live on 911.. That one comes second.

7/7 comes first. Both my dad and my boyfriend at the time used the underground, it could have been them.

9/11. I remember at first thinking some kids in my class were watching a movie. Then I noticed that it was CNN. Then my principal came to our classroom and told us to turn it off and told the teacher to not talk about it to us. As soon as he left, she said fsck that and turned on the radio. I went home after that class.
