i answered this earlier, it's #4. <br />
When the reaction loses it's push against gravity, the element Iron si created, it starts a very fast chain reaction that collapses the star into the white dwarf. but a red giant chase usually will preceed the collapse. effectively swallowing out to mars. The effects on jupiter will be interesting.<br />

Our sun is far far too small to become a neutron star pulsar or black hole. it would need 8-20 times the mass to even have a chance.
