Well let see....aside from telling me that my family is White trash Hill Billy's....and that I am a uncooth Barbarian.....

And that her Dogs are better than me and my kids are....
(even though I took care of her after her By-pass operation)....and my kids gave her a place to stay with her stinky little dog...When her son tossed her out...

Nothing...Living with her is a Bed of Roses....,hehehehe

My in-laws have never said anything rude to me. I love them as my own and would go to the grave for them.

From the very start, I demonstrated that I would do anything to help them, that has nurtured a bound with them that has grown extremely strong. My mother-in-law is NOT the most loving person, by a long shot, but she has learned to love me completely.....

Maybe I'm just one of the rare few....or maybe I just put in the extra effort needed.....I'd imagine our own attitudes and responses would have an impact, do you?

I, for the most part get along with my in-laws. But, I remember one time my husband and I were fighting with his dad and stepmother. His dad told me that he already had 4 other grandchildren he didn't see, so he didn't care if he never saw my daughter again.

Two months after me and my ex-husband had split up, he got sick. He was in the ER and I went to see him. He was taking care of our kids and I felt that I had that right to know how the father of my children was doing. I walked into the ER and his mother was there with his new girlfriend that he left me for. His mom started yelling at me and telling me that I had no right to be there. I was so embarrassed, I walked straight out of the ER in tears. I went to our old house and checked on my kids and then I went to the room I was renting and cried myself to sleep. But first, I found some type of peace from reading a few scriptures in the good book.

Like barebackrider, I am most fortunate to have fantastic in-laws, and despite being divorced, still retain a close relationship with them all. I am still regarded as a daughter-in-law (and there is a new one in the picture now), sister-in-law and an auntie.
If anything, they always took my side. My ex's sister was the first person I told about legally seperating and she congratulated me!

My mother-in-law claims to love me.....she usually talks sweet, and complimentary to me.....However....a few years back (keep in mind, that my husband is a first class mama's boy)...my husband called his mother, after he and I had gotten into an argument, and told her about it ....and she said "she's a b*tch...watch out for that one...."....

Now, this same woman will call her daughter, and granddaughter that same thing....I have heard her talk behind every member of the family's back...so, why should I be any exception.....ha.

I finallly figured it out....with this family....compliment her to her face...tell her how great she is....then, maybe she will put up with all the crap her son does, so that she doesn't have to worry about it. But, the minute I stand up for myself, and refuse to be treated poorly by her precious son....then, I am a b*tch.

I will be so glad when the divorce is final.
