we called it "chicken schlop" and now we actually sometimes buy the ingredients to make it on purpose because my 11 yr old loved it!

cans of creamed corn, cream of chicken soup, cream of celery soup. -whatever chicken you have in the house cooked and picked off the bone (no skin). the first time I made it we used broken lasagne and extra large shell pasta (I always save them in a box for soup) but you can use pot pie squares too. Cook it all together in about 6 cups of water and then add instant potato flakes until it's creamy... it sorta comes out like chicken pot pie without the crust.

Kennel Ration Dog food, Thought it was a can of corn beef hash with the label torn off at first then when it dawned on me what it was I figured if the dog could eat it, I could. Wasn't that bad either.

Probably a damper-flour and milk- mix in a dough-cook. With jam/honey.

Or rice with brown sugar and butter.

Haha-that chicken schlop sounds good-maybe if Creamsicle's 11 yo likes it my 10.5 yo will too. And ketchup soup-thats classic hehe.

In jail, we put a scoop of peanut butter in a cup o noodles. We had no salt packets or nothing so we had to use other meals for flavor for the current meal.

That is as bare as a cupboard gets.

I have made ketchup soup, and that was pretty desperate luckily I was single at the time and didn't have to worry about feeding children.

That was pretty low!!!

Ketchup sandwiches, mayonnaise sandwiches, plain saltines, out dated food from super market trash bins. We were very poor when I was young. College wasn't exactly a time of good eating either. All through those times I was thin as a rail.
