Mountains. I've climbed numerous 6,000m peaks and one 7,000m. I've climbed and skied mountains in Sth America, Nth America, Australasia, India and Japan. I just love snow, ice and cold.

I like the desert. I spent almost three years in the American desert and loved to explore it.
I like going to the beach but unless you could get out on the water, the beach would become boring after awhile.
I've never been to the jungle but I bet it would be pretty cool.
I live in the mountains now and love it. There's no other way to live in my opinion.

Desert rivers on the Colorado Plateau. A severe riverine environment that is absolutely spectacular. Have done sections of the Green River, Yampa River, Colorado River, San Juan River and the Rio Grande River (all with a whitewater open canoe).
The flora and fauna are unique from ring-tail cats to canyon wrens to tarantula hawk wasps. Once caught a Pygmy Faded Rattlesnake that must have just hatched and could not even bite through light fabric. But, I hope that there is a special place in hell for the people who introduced Tamarisk to the Southwest and built the Glenn Canyon Dam.Like (1)

I live in the country far from urban life and love it, I do miss the beach however. I spent many years as a "desert rat" and that has it own special appeal, I guess given a choice, I would choose to live on the beach of Northern Ca. there you have both the forest and the ocean.
