What is your favorite grilled fish? or fish dish?

Q&A Home   >  Community   >  EP

I just experienced grilled grouper and grilled triggerfish for the first time not long ago. Just wondering what others are as good or better! I like trying new stuff.

It is kinda hard ..cause you have to make sure to get all the fat off and clean it the right way or it taste like lake water.. if you don't filet it right.. you don't get any good pieces without bones.. it has 1000's of tiny bones.. those pieces are edible also .. I just don't eat them. I pass them to the adults..lol.. I buy fish fry a pre-mix of corn meal/flour/spice and lightly coat it, shake off the excess. Fry in very hot oil until it floats or until it is flaky. I would get help with this one. It would not choose it as my first fish meal to cook : ) Good Luck

my parents are in a fishing club, and go fishing whenever they can. if it's not a vacation to fish, it's a vacation to vegas (but that's a different matter). We eat all types of fish (salmon, swordfish, tuna, bass, char, halibut, snapper, just to name a few). but my all-time favorite is salmon. i'm fine with it plain, with a blackening spice, a honey glaze (meant for ham), just about any seasoning or rub could be on it and i'd eat it (and i'm a picky eater!). i don't think i've ever had store-bought salmon, so the taste might be different, but i'm sure if you find a place that specializes in seafood you'll find some delicious, fresh salmon steaks.

I never had grilled fish until I moved here but I grill almost everything I eat! they think Im crazy but I love fish! I never had seen any of these fish when I lived in NYC and I never had grilled either just baked or fried...but grilled is absolutely my favorite! I want to try every different fish that I can too! I had salmon before when I was alot younger but it tasted funny so I stopped eating it--might try it grilled cause it sounds really good now! Thanks!

Usually cut into 1/4 inch strips, with just a little bit of soy or wassabi. It's best cold, firmer that way. I have tried a few different fish, cut as soon as they were caught. That is definitely not for most people though.
