The Little Prince.
best book in the universe. nothing i have read has touched me so deeply, as it directly relates to my personal life. the symbolism is brilliant. Saint-exupery is one of my literary heroes!!! this book is like a bible, i go to it when life makes no sense, when i need to be reminded of why i am still bothering to live. you cannot say you have lived if you havn't read it. it will make you laugh, cry, and rethink your life.
the little prince thought his rose didn't love him, but she did, she was just proud, and needed to be tough enough to take care of herself.
oh it is a breathtaking, beautiful story that you should read many many times, and then buy the recording of the opera. it is insane as well. i think i can sing the whole thing from memory.

I like the dictionary, because it is intelligent and gets right to the point. It skips all the drama, suspense, and mystery.

I like my books like I like my women.

Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy and Larry Bond though Bond does not get enough credit for this one

One of the best Cold War novels ever written showing a possible World War III without the use of nukes

Really depends on my mood. I have a few favorites:

Foreskin's Lament by Shalom Auslander...because it's honest and just f*****g hilarious.

Harvesting the Heart and My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult...because she brings out emotion and tackles controversial topics with gusto.

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupéry...because it's my bible.

Fall On Your Knees by Ann-Marie MacDonald...because it is a beautiful story.

The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein...because it is an exemplar of unconditional love.

"Invisible Monsters" by Chuck Palahniuk. It's twisted, witty, intelligent and has a moment that is just like a quick, hard punch to the throat.

"Life of Pi"
It was thought-provoking as well as entertaining.

And also

"Psyche in a Dress"
It was so poignant and beautifully written. I felt like someone had taken sandpaper and scrubbed my heart raw with it.

i have many , and it changes with our age too.. like in younger age in school i liked to study fairy tales , then in teen age romantic novels.. poetry to impress the girls :) like " The History of Love"

Then in university i read books that are related to my subject .. so with age our taste changes , like i am reading in these days a book " The Power of Now " and " The Gods of Small Things "

When you have a many good books in market then it is very difficult to point out that this is the best one.. that i ever read..

Make Books reading a Fashion again .. they are the best and everlasting friends..

Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet - It's a book that sucks you in and makes you care about the characters.

World Without End by Ken Follet - It takes place like a century later than Pillars, and is just as well written and makes you care for the characters just as the first one.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon - It's a romantic, historical, novel with touches of science fiction written so well that you think travelling through time via stones is normal in the highlands.

All these books have very sexy moments that will make some people blush, but they are very worth reading (or listening to) by anyone who has time for VERY large books. their 900+ pages.
