It was premeditated murder.....she dug the grave before hand........this person is broken. She could get parole when 30 years old.

Wow, I'm stunned. I usually follow cases like this, but missed it completely. She is a monster, what else can be said? Will she be rehabilitated in prison? Probably not. The sad truth is she should never, ever see the light of day.

Mixed feelings. I'd like to think she could be rehabilitated and some day released, but have my doubts.

I would like to say she should have a second chance but after reading about the case I think the sentence is justified.
Many children come from broken homes and are mistreated but they don't resort to evil. I would be concerned she would reoffend.so many have been release to commit murder a second time.

A sad world we live it. Thought for the victims family.

She got high on the rush of killing a defenseless 9 year old girl that will not see the rest of her life. She deserves prison.

She is done. I had not heard the story either, but now that I do, she should be put to death. Not only did she kill someone, she killed a defensless little kid. She is a murderer and a sadist and should not live. She has damaged so many lives by this one act and to retell it over and over she is damaging even more. We put a dog to sleep because he attacks a child and he is just doing what dogs do. Her actions were intentional. I think a dog has a better change of redemtion that she ever will. And if there is any doubt as to how I feel about this? Yes, I would pull the switch.

horror can come in small, under aged packages. i agree with the sentence. the 9 year old she killed doesn't get a second chance.

The media mentioned that her doctor increased her prozac dosage a few days before, and I'm beginning to think that was the problem and she had a difficult childhood. She confessed and apologized so, because of that I have pity on her. But what she did was inexcusable and she has to face the punishment. I feel terrible for both parties.

Sadly, it didn't sound like this broken young woman can be fixed. Justice is served in the sentence.

doubtful you would be so inclined if it was your daughter......the little girl was savaged brutally.

I understand that, and a psychological evaluation should be able to determine if she is capable of rehabilitation or not, above all else, not knowing the victim nor the assailant, I cannot begin to speculate what is best for the families of both the victim and the offender. I would not feel anything more if it were your daughter or my daughter, tragedy is tragedy. Ferocity and feelings of vengeance will not undo anything that has happened.

Don't know that she can be helped ( or should be ), but I do know nothing good comes out of prison. She will spend however long learning new sick and twisted things to do, and then she will be turned loose to actually try what she has learned. For those who haven't seen the article ( such as myself until several minutes ago ) it can be seen at << http://ktla.com/news/landing/ktla-missing-olten-alyssa-bustamante,0,1159504.story >> Don't see muich hope for this girl, aparently she "enjoyed" killing.
