What is your opinion of Elton John's songwriting?

genius in the early years

Yes.......Bernie Taupin was his partner early...... I guess I meant his SONGS.

Definitely a one-of-a-kind. When you think of most performers, you can immediately associate them with about a handful of others that sound very similar; Elton John (like Meatloaf, for example) is one of the few artists that is totally unto their own.

I don't think he's been the songwriter, but the singer...He's part of a team with another guy who mostly writes the songs...

There is nobody like him, and he consistently turns out hits. That's difficult to do.
