any lab test. everything is confidential in a hospital. at least its SUPPOSE to be.

not with third party billing. They list everything except this one test was "confidential lab test"

Pap smear pathology, biopsy pathology, etc. as the others said, all med tests are confidential unless a valid release form is in hand allowing a third party to know.

Bills are not test results. Call the billing office and ask what that charge represents.

They might be billing you falsely and that is how they are hiding it. Former group health insurance broker; I saw false billings and over-billings all the time.

Why don't you ask the 20 year old female? If you're paying her bills then you should feel comfortable asking her. Since she's not a minor it is confidential, even to you. HIPPA compliance. You know only what she's ok with you knowing.

HIPPA Law insures all records are private. Certain tests results that our positive must be reported to the health department. This is done to protect the general public, as well as provide appropriate care and treatment to those who need it.

I believe any patient can ask for a visit to be listed as confidential.
