What literary devices are used in this sentence? *See details!!!*

“We laughed and laughed, together and separately, out loud and silently, we were determined to ignore whatever needed to be ignored, to build a new world from nothing if nothing in our world could be salvaged, it was one of the best days of my life, a day during which I lived my life and didn’t think about my life at all.”

It's for an ISU/ISP. Also, it's from the book Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

oh OK i dont know what that would be in engand. ill have a go though... if the relationship being described is not the focus of the text then it would be called a deleted affair. I dont know the whole text but it appears to be making an analeptic reference, or referring back to something which happened at the beginning. it might be using oxymorons by stating, 'gogether and seperatly, loud and silently' ect but im not sure, you need to look up the rule for that. also look up about the lack of full stops, i cant remember what it is called though. there is some type of metaphor in ''build a new world'' it might be an extended metaphor which helps the reader to imagine something so great that it cant be described. the bit at the end about life tells me that the character was a bit of a free spirit and suggests something might have happened to change that. sorry if this is a bit low-level, i have a feeling you are working at a higher level than what i am trained to teach haha hope it helps anyway. ill let you know if i can think of anything else in there.
