What makes a couple compatible?

Is it shared values & interests? Outlooks on life?

What makes you feel emotionally connected to your partner?

Sisi, thank you! But, how do you overcome your differences when you feel such a wide gulf?

Shared values are the most important thing. Looks fade, money fluctuates, interestst change, but a relationship built on a common set of morals helps decide how future issues can be resolved.

it's not what they have in common. it's how they compliment each other's differences.

I refer you to Ogden Nash's famously remark:
"There's nothing wrong with a little incompatibility - especially if he has income and she is pattable".

To accept eachother the way they are and be ready for adjustments. They should take care about eachothers needs, desires, dreams. Never try to change eachother that brings in suffocation. Space is needed in a relationship.

when they are there for each other no matter what. when they have seen the absolute worst in each other and they still want to be with each other. when they have put each other through hell yet they are still together after 10yrs.
Wisdom, Maturity, understanding, commitment, but most of all unconditional love. when it is true love and meant to be it IS unconditional, no matter what!

First and foremost they must both share the same sense of commitment, love and trust. Without that you have nothing. If you share the same sense of commitment, it doesn't matter if you don't share the same views because you will find a way to make the relationship as harmonious as possible. Love so deeply that you will move heaven and earth to do what it takes to keep the relationship going. Trust that you will always love them enough to do what's best for the both of you.

Common interests are very important for couples...To me though affection is very important!!..For someone to touch you in that way that makes your heart melt..Affection to me is the difference between it working and not..right now I am still struggling in that area with the guy I am with...Sometimes I think I should have waited til he got that issue settled..He has been through some unaffectionate relationships and it has affected him in the worst way..I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt that he will come around cause it has got me feeling doomed..If I can't get this affection that I need I will feel like I have made a bad mistake being with him.

Hello it just how batteries make things work, there is a positive and a negative, I am negative my wife is positive so we connect. just kidding, I think it the hard times you get through together, for example a death of a very loved family member or death of kid due to misscarrying. tough times you get definetly help with compatibility.

Realizing that you can be a couple, and maintain your own individuality.

Being able to forgive....and say I'm sorry.

Being able to compromise.

well my astrologer would say their mars has to be conjunct my venus & lemme tell you men with their mars in libra/aquarius drive me effin nuts. they also say i shouldn't date cancers & leos but i love playin with fire & drownin in water.

i think its a combo of attraction, common interests, mutual values, ability to relate to each other, how a couple communicates & if their future growth or plans include each other in it.

Compatibility is pretty simple. You just click. My brother just started dating this girl and they talk nonstop. They never run out of things to talk about. Of course, they do have things in common, but not everything.

As long as you and your partner can't get enough of each other - emotionally as well as physically - THAT's compatibility. It's up to you if you think that differences in religion, culture, etc. make too much of a gap between you.
