What movie have you seen lately that surprised you in either a good or bad way?
We just watched the last Harry Potter movie last night. My hopes weren't too high, because I thought the two preceding it weren't very good. However, I was surprised at how strong they finished and thought the last one was a very good movie.

Edward Scissor Hands,
it is a beautiful movie shot in
the most wonderful dreamy way,
just like it should for this type of movie and its theme
however the ending could have been so much better i feel.

Real Steel, was a good movie.
War Horse, prompted by Dave002 to see, I am glad he did.
The second Sherlock Holmes movie, I liked but in retrospect was let down. They are starting to put too much importance on the delayed hits in the movie, now showing it from the other guy's side...too much and boring. I like the style of the movie, the settings, but this one seemed empty. The original one had me on the edge of my seat.
I too saw the new Mission Impossible, not too keen on Cruise one way or another, but there was nothing else to see..........came away pleased with the movie, the little laughs and the characters.

War Horse. I figured it would be just another lame animal movie. I was dead wrong. It was really well done from beginning to end. Cudos to Spielberg! If I had three thumbs, I would give it three thumbs up!

Mission Impossible...thought it was going to be bad....but was pleasantly surprised. Loved all the action scenes...they were the best part....and NO!...I didn't go to see it because Tom Cruise is hot (cause he's not to me). :P

Real Steel was surprisingly good. Not a very original plot but the robots looked realistic! And the camera panning was very nice touch throughout the movie. I thought it was going to be a cheap movie.
