Hannibal Lector. Do you really want me to tell you why?
He only eats he rude. Om nom nom.
Barry (Bears) Kaufman, founder of the Option Institute. The Institute has been practicing a form of unconditional love for over 40 years and has endless stories to tell. You don't have to agree with their philosophy or anything either to see the enormous and unique value of what they do.
For example, they worked with the first child diagnosed anorexic from birth in north America. At six months she refused to nurse and at three years old having never said a word she shoved her hand down her throat, gagged herself, and vomited up all the food they had force fed her through a tube. Eventually they took her to the Option Institute where they did the stupidest thing.
They got 17 volunteers to do 2 hour shifts around the clock with her. Nobody forced food on her, nobody did anything except try to draw her out and play with her. After two weeks one person said he thought he had a connection going so they said he would be the first. He walked into the room and ate a banana in front of her and she asked for some. Within two weeks she was eating everything in sight.
All their work is like that. The stupidest most direct approach possible done with TLC and respect for even a 3 year old.
By stupid I mean the most obvious and simple approach. The Duh! factor you might say.
LOL, they've gotten into a lot of trouble for it too and received endless criticism, but they kept plugging away and getting results and eventually it all worked out.
That's the funny thing is as far as they are concerned the journey is the reward.
Yes and no. They're new age hippy dippies with attitude and more degrees than you can shake a stick at.
Not in their case. They started down this path as a simple experiment in personal growth and ended up being forced by circumstances to produce one minor miracle after another until they finally gave in and accepted their fate.
Whether they've done much or not isn't the issue. It's whether or not they are committed to the path and not intent on any specific destination.
I think people are a little more complex than one dimensional characters in a cheap novel driven only by fear.
All negative motivations. Again, I think people are a bit more complex.
And I think you don't have to be an optimist to have a less negative view of humanity.
Then try for just something a bit more neutral first.
Science promotes more objective viewpoints.
Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights.
Because he's the ultimate male. He's Strong, mysterious passionate. If a man's never loved a woman to that degree, he's not a real man in my opinion.
Ellen Degeneres because she seems to be happy all the time, seems to be nice to everyone no matter what, laughs at good jokes, has really funny jokes and she seems to always have fun!!
Probably but that is what makes being different so great we don't have to like the same things.
Some people like comformity it makes them feel comfortable you should accept that about them if that is who they are.
Well you got live with that sometimes. It kind of come with the territory.
Go and get some.
Discovering Ron Paul has set me on a chain of exploration that has made me determined to be big on advocacy in my future.
Mother Teresa. Because she was my Godmother at my baptism after my birth in Calcutta, India. Despite her many convoluted ideologies, her proximity to my life is a constant reminder of how much of a stubborn negotiator she was in order to provide for those in her care. She did what she had to do, most often without forsaking her morality.
Want photos? I can also scan my baptismal certificate, and there are witnesses, including Missionaries of Charity and Catholic Relief Services personnel. I've heard that call too many times to care - it is my personal experience, and an answer to your question.
What I just said is that I've dealt with enough people that know nothing about me to not mind it when I'm called a liar. However, I am proud to bear the burdens my life has brought me, and her presence in my life was one of very few sustaining factors that will ultimately see me past them. I'll make my voice heard in order to preserve the sanctity of that any day.
Thoroughness in the expression of my thoughts and intention doesn't belie "blowing up". Your judgement of tone through text is a bit self-righteous.
Only if you're pursuing a career in diplomacy.
Same reason you called shenanigans. To be blunt.
Christine Jorgensen, the first transsexual, for obvious reasons
