Your a teenager. Pretty much everything about your life is subject to instant, radical change at any given moment for the next few years. Don't let stuff get to you. Believe that whatever is really getting you down will change soon and it will change soon. I know that sounds like magic or something but that's how it works. Honest. Hang in there.
Hmm... decide that you won't let that stuff get you down. It's really as simple as that. The goal of counseling in the end, is to teach you that it is your choice how you respond to situations, and that you have control over who you are and what you get from life. When you can forgive yourself because what upsets you is outside your control, then you will be fine ^.^ Have confidence in yourself. Also, this song always helps me turn around:
Just slow yourself down, sit, quiet yourself, and when you are quiet, close your eyes and press play.
Get the counsler, it is a really good plan, but go and do it.
So get a cousellor :) They can point you in the right direction
