Since my children and husband know I want to be cremated and ashes tossed into the Atlantic, they also have a partial “play list”. Some of the final selction is “Freebird” by who else, “Fly Me To The Mood” sung by Frank Sinatra, “I’ll See You In My Dreams” among others. My children are horrified at it all. :D

I know that it's a cliched choice, but "My Way",by Sinatra, would certainly be on my list.

I want to be cremated, with part of my ashes scattered over the S.F. Bay (if possible) and the rest placed with my loved ones in their gravesite. There are two songs I want:
    "Good Riddance" ~ Green Day
"Time" ~ Alan Parsons Project (Heard it at a friend's memorial almost 30 years ago, and it made an impression on me EP Link )

It sounds great. Make certain that your wishes are in your will. It sounds morbid but it is your funeral.

I think I'd go with a few songs I love:

    Pie Jesu
    Ava Maria
    Amazing Grace
    Midnight Cry - Ivan Parker
    Angels - Robbie Williams
Time to Say Goodbye - Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli.

Then close it out with a happy one :)
I Did It My Way - Sinatra

I considered but rejected realizing the crowd might not have my sense of humor:

    Six Underground - Sneaker Pimps
So Happy I could Die - Lady Gaga
    Staying Alive - Bee Gees
Ding Dong the Witch is Dead - the Glee version :-)

Hands of Time by Groove Armada, seems like the right mood, and I think the lyrics would be perfect for my funeral :)

I've listed two songs for my memorial service. One is the "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun" by Debussey. Then there is Sooj Tucker's "Firebird." I'm being cremated and dumped into the sea. Open bar!

Ohhh, that Debussy's beautiful. And I love the beach, too. It's sounds like it would be lovely.

I would probably like either - Death is the Road to Awe by Clint Mansell, Ara Batur by Sigúr Ros or this song, although this song seems a bit too...combatish..which would be fine if I was a viking or something..but I'm not..so.. <.< -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j95HZucSj3U

    I've already written them down:
    1. The cool river by Darshan Ambient
    2. Les Baricades Mysterieuses by Francois Couperin
    3. Ascent by Brian Eno, from 'Apollo'

All instrumental pieces that have brought me much listening pleasure over the years

    I hate funerals, I don't want one. I suppose I won't get a choice though.
