Resolved Question

What sports or games did your dad play with you?

My mom wouldn't let me go out on school nights, so when she was at night school, I would say my homework was done & we would play cards & drink wine. He would take me on his fishing trips if my mom would let me get away. He tried to get me into tennis, which he loves, but, my asthma got the best of me everytime. Lots of good talks during all those games.

Oh the fun I used to have with dear old dad! He and I used to play a game he called, "Get the f*ck out my way or I'll beat you to death you piece of cr*p! How my loins could have spawned a weed like you is a mystery to me!"

My dad had no interest whatsoever in sports. Unless you count table tennis. I don't.

Actually he is against sport on ethical grounds. He thinks it promotes competition over co-operation.

We had four boys in our family and my Dad never played any kind of sports with any of us at all. We played a lot of different sports with eachother. But, my Dad could not even throw or catch a ball. He couldn't even ride a bicycle. He was completely uncoordinated, but he was very intelligent. I learned a lot from him about many different subjects. Together, he and I must have taken apart and reassembled just about every part of every vehicle, appliance and electronic device we owned...

He made me play baseball and had me in basketball camps by the time I was 5. I also played football and ran track, all to shut him up. He never played anything with me. He just wanted to live vicariously through me and my athletic ability.

My dad had a game where I always went first. He told me it was called slap the motorcyclist. We would walk down to the interstate and when we saw two lights coming he would tell me to run out and stand in the middle as it was undoubtedly two motorcycles riding side by side. "Hold out your arms and you can slap both of the." he would yell.
I never really liked that game.

My Dad didnt play sports with me, he wasnt much into sports and didnt really support me much when I played. He pitched a baseball with me once or twice, but he would show off and see how hard and fast he could throw it then get mad at me when my hand got hurt through the glove and I "couldnt take it". Needless to say....I didnt grow up being much of a sports fan myself.

My Dad played sports with my brother and took him to Dallas Cowboys games... but during these times he would buy me a cabbage patch kids doll and tell me football isn't for girls. I would cry!
