I like the ancient writings of Rumi.
It's simple, honest, easy to read and yet as deep as your imagination can take you
If you have never read any of his writing, you might find this interesting:
some written here by friends are as moving as any i've ever read
love poetry---but really poems with unique words---not your same ol same ol
Poetry to me is like that song that when you first heard it you knew you where going to love it forever. For me I like anything that provokes my thoughts and emotions. Anything that will say, stop... ponder on my words....enjoy my voice. Because each poetry has a certain beat, a story, a personality..... a soul. Good writer's poems become part of us.
Poetry to me is like absract art .A lot of It requires interpretation. It seems so personal to the one who wrote it. I don't want to have to think about something in order to appreciate or understand it. I want to read something and get it right away.I want to look at a painting, Like Rockwell, and know what's happening.
I like the poetry of James McCauley. It moves me. And I love the Rubayait of Omar Khayam which I was introduced to by a very dear friend, a very loving and romantic soul, now passed away.
short. four lines best.
