'Tom & Jerry' - the MGM ones, which were very well drawn, with the animals voiced by musical instruments. I didn't like the versions Hannah-Barbara (right sp?) threw together - I reckoned them 3rd-rate in artwork, animation and I think (may be wrong) giving the animals human voices .
Mind you, I was in my late teens & early 20s! I didn't seem many prior to that as we didn't have a telly, apart from a few Huckleberry Hound & Yogi Bear editions at friends' homes.
'The Clangers'. Not strictly cartoons, but stop-motion photographed models, voiced by Swanee Whistles. They inhabited a planet vegetated by Music Trees (the leaves or fruit were crochets & quavers), & their diet was some sort of soup from wells presided over by the Soup Dragon. I don't recall much in the way of stories though!
Although it was made for 1-3 year olds I happened to see a couple of editions of 'The Teletubbies'. I was struck by the elaborate staging, with actors in fleece-fabric costume suits and a house that was a remarkably sophisticated set for its purpose. I was struck even more by the reception the programme received from one or two overseas TV companies, exceptions to the very many who bought it.
One German TV manager declared the Teletubbies "looked like spacemen" so would frighten the young children for whom they were intended. Some senior pseud-in-a-suit in Warner Bros allegedly condemned it as evil because it was unremittingly cheerful. While daftest of all, one of the characters aroused a lot of idiotic, totally irrelevant, debate over his supposed sexual orientation!
Only goes to show that when it comes to children's TV & Big Business, it's rich in clowns who were never children and have a lower IQ than the average member of the Teletubbies' "target demographic" - to use a typical half-baked twaddle term beloved of such "executive" types.Like (1)

That's a tough one. I liked quite a few. X-Men and Sailormoon to name two.
