Was eating at Applebee's....ordered a grilled chicken salad....When they brought it to me....under the bed of lettuce, was a baby cockroach...GROSS.....

I called for the manager, who tried to convince me that it was a "lettuce bug", not a cockroach....at which I replied..."I'm almost 50 years old...I know what a cockroach looks like".....He apologizes...

Then, asks..."is there anything I can do, to make this right? Perhaps you'd like to have dessert, on me?"...

I say..."NO, I DO NOT want dessert, from the same kitchen, that brought me food, with a cockroach on it."......

What, is he nuts?

Milestones, 3051 Vega Blvd, Mississauga, Ontario

The waitress spilled Pepsi all over my boyfriend and looked more aggravated that she had to go get more drinks than apologetic. The manager had not yet visited our table at this time. Then, the same waitress, on her way back, spilled a long island iced tea, with mango puree in it which makes it even more sticky, all over my chest, lap, $3400 Chanel purse and $1695 Dolce and Gabbana dress. The manager took FIFTEEN minutes to come to our table and then decided to tell us that to make up this incident she would pay for our dry cleaning. I told her that the dress that I was wearing costs around $1700 and it is clearly going to stain on the fabric and since I had purchased that dress earlier that afternoon I still had the receipt in my purse. Then she looked at the receipt and went on to say "You don't expect me to believe that you are wearing a dress that costs almost $1900 (after taxes, mind you) to Milestones. This is ridiculous, nobody asked you to wear that dress to this restaurant there is no possible way we are reimbursing you for this." Not that it was her business about why I wore it I told her that my boyfriend and I attended a Chopin musical gala earlier and decided to stop by Milestones for dinner afterward. I didn't wear this dress specifically to go to a restaurant like Milestones. So we ended up leaving and refused to pay for dinner since all we got by that point were our drinks and appetizer and the manager literally followed us out the door and told us that she would be calling the police if we left without paying. I told her that she is more than welcome to do so and never heard back. Anyway, that dress did stain and I ended up throwing it out and buying a new one.

Now, I wasn't as upset that the waitress spilled drinks on us.. twice.. but more upset about how the "manager" chose to handle the situation. I'm a manager and I know that the last thing I want to do after a customer is upset with our company is imply that they're lying and refuse to do anything to make the situation better.

Anyway, I have not visited a Milestones restaurant since then and will never return. If I was ever famous, I would be sure to make my fans boycott that restaurant. In the meantime, I just advise my clients and friends to NEVER visit Milestones and recommend another restaurant that is actually worth it.

Alright Pink chicken is bad, but mine was just embarassing.

A friend of mine and I were having dinner at East Side Marios (those of you who don't know - you order an entree and you get unlimited bread and salad). Anyways, so my sister calls and ask where I am - I tell her and she says her and her friend are coming to meet us for drinks. When they get there, they order drinks and sit with us. They started eating our bread and salad - and asking us to order more (for them). When our waiter came he asked if they would like menus and my sister just replied that they were fine with their drinks and the WE wanted more salad and bread. He kinda furrowed his eyebrow, but then came back with more. Shortly afterwards, he brought my friend and I our entrees.. and glared at my sister and her friend while they were munching away on bread and salad.
Embarassed, I just started eating my Entree (Hells Kitchen Chicken - soo good) and ignored what was happening. As our waiter stood in the kitchen area talking with his fellow servers I cringed. My sister starting poking at my dinner and eating the chicken, and freaked out because it is extremely spicy. Later when the waiter came to check on our table, my sister and her friend both had complaints on the food - too spicy and didn't taste right - when it was exactly how it should have been. Her friend also complained that her drink was empty for at least 10 minutes. When he left, I was appalled and told them both off - I was infuriated and my friend and I were so humilated. They ended up leaving a $20 (with another drink on the way) and took off. When the waiter came back, I had to apologize and reassure him that everything was okay... When the bill came we were stuck with $26.00 in their drink charges (martinis kill you) and had to tip our waiter well for putting up with their crap!

End Novel.

I was at an Easter Brunch when the waiter spilled a full tray of flavored Maragritas and on my Grandmother. She was covered with multi-colored stains...Oops, that was actually me...I was the waiter...Glad I chose a different career.

It was late, I had been driving for 6 hours and I was hungry. Off the highway was a restaurant (So to speak) I pulled in and ordered eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes and coffee. When the waitress was walking over to set the plate down and she placed the plate in front of me, the eggs slid off the plate! I looked up at her and said, Uh? I think I'll have a large coffee to go! No argument from her!

At the "Olive Garden" - the service was HORRIBLE.... dirty table, dirty water, waiter never returned to check on us, no napkins, food was cold when it finally arrived, took over half an hour to get the bill, etc

Needless to say, we left no tip. The waiter followed us into the parking lot to tell us that he "needed" that tip and perhaps if we didn't intend to leave one we ought not to go to restaurants at all.

I informed him that if he "needed" his tip so bad that perhaps he ought to do his job or find another occupation. Then I went in to complain to the manager who only promised us "better service next time"- There never was a next time. I've never gone back.

I normally leave fairly large tips.... even WITH bad service if it's obvious it's not the server's fault. Sometimes it's the cooks, or the restaurant set up in general and they can't help that at all.

went out on valentine's night, new restaurant, fancy schmancy, hippest joint in town, had a loaded v high profile ( i can get us seats anywhere) kinda boyfriend at the time, restaurant was packed, a veritable who's who of society at the time, food took 2 hours to reach the table, had tummy ache, a splitting headache, a filthy mood, worst valentines ever, worst memory in a restaurant, did not want to make a fuss because he'd used some connections to get us the table and the waiters were so apologetic, could not be mad at them- torture!
