The deal-breaker?

Where do I begin?

Ok, I took this from a movie and it is actually quite true as I have done it several times...

I asked a gal on a date and I went to pick her up. I opened the door for her and she got in and then I walked around the back of the car and watched to see if she did one or two things.
1) she will just sit there and I have to unlock my door.
2) she will lean over and unlock the door for me.

If she sits there and does nothing, she is a 'diva', wants everything done for her and has no real interest in you.

If she leans over and unlocks the door, she is actually thinking about you and is interested in you.

I have experienced both situations and believe me, the gal who leaned over and unlocked my door was the most understanding and fun person I had ever dated. The other chick... completely forgettable.

Needless to say, I did not marry the nice gal because I got relocated to Germany and we lost touch.

oh well... win some, lose some.

So, the next time I ask a woman out on a date, if she unlocks my door, I will take her to a very fine restaurant of her choosing, but is she doesn't we're going to McDonald's.

This is confusing, sorry - see, there are certain traits that would make me not even like someone enough to date them, never mind consider them as a mate - unkindness/cruelty, dishonesty, selfishness, arrogance, narsicism, bigotry...Thelist goes on!
But, if I had gotten past all that and liked someone - what would be the deal breaker? Hmm...If they didn't want to learn to love my kids (we are a package deal), if they were already involved (cos I don't cheat or share), if there was no 'spark', if they were controlling or in any way possessive or abusive...

Deal breakers for me would be:

*A wife beater
* An atheist who critcised my own beliefs
* Someone who didn't want children and didn't like children
*Someone who had committed a really bad crime like murder or child abuse
*Someone who is racist

There's probably more but these are the ones that spring to mind at the moment. :o)

I haven't had to 'choose' a mate for years so I'm not really particularly looking at it from the dealbreaker side of things, my list of qualifications increases everyday and someone has to be pretty damn crazy to start with to want me in the first place

Being a Republican or being Joe Lieberman (or someone who liked Joe Lieberman) would end all possibilities. That just couldn't be forgiven Everything else is OK.

Lots of things would be a deal breaker for me. Someone who wants children (as in wants me to give birth to and raise them), someone who wants children (is a ped0phile), someone who is abusive, et cetera et cetera.
